Controls

Egg Kevin’s House is a walking story, not a shooter. Most “I am stuck” reports are camera and prompt issues, not missing stats. This page is the input reference. Night order stays in the walkthrough. QTE story context stays in Future Firefighter.

The place uses standard Roblox character movement. You will not find a sprint upgrade, a stamina bar, or a crouch-stealth meter. If a ridge crow is hard to hit, you are aiming a throw, not unlocking a skill.

Dialogue

Lines appear in a story box. Current builds let you click the subtitle to skip, added in the fragment-era patch notes. That skip is for Speedrunner, not for Silence is a Valid Option. Silence requires selecting the "..." choice whenever a menu appears. Mixing skip-clicks with talkative choices will still play audio but can void the Silence badge — see badges.

Timed dialogue events exist in later patches (TellTale-style). If a bar ticks down, pick something. Standing still during Kevin’s basement speech is fine; standing still during Margaret’s pull is a fail.

Items you actually use

  • Eggs / rock (prologue): Look at a window, Billy, or a crow, then throw. Fragment one needs the corner crow. Inadvertent Hero needs Billy’s hitbox, not the glass.
  • Metal pipe (dream): Pick up in the bedroom, then strike the window beside the bed. It is not a combat weapon against Kevin.
  • Headphones (Night 3): Pick up on the Fun Dungeon floor to trigger the knockout. You cannot “use” them afterward.
  • Knife: Appears for rope cutting. Click Billy’s bindings to save him. Outside, a dedicated prompt throws it at Kevin. There is no dual-wield or inventory tetris.
  • Key fragments: Walk into them. They are not equipped. Missing one is a routing error, not a hotkey error. List: secret ending.

Margaret quick-time (Future Firefighter)

When you run inside the burning house, letters spawn.

  • Female Sam: press the shown keys in order.
  • Male Sam: press three keys together per prompt. This is the nasty one on laptop keyboards with anti-ghosting limits.
  • Console: match the on-screen glyphs, not a YouTube PC overlay.
  • Mobile: tap the on-screen keys. You do not need a Bluetooth keyboard.

Failing drops you out of the named ending. Practicing on a throwaway file is cheaper than rereading all endings after a misclick.

Platform notes

PC: Best for male-Sam firefighter and for clicking small fridge gaps. Shift-lock is optional; many players leave it off in corridors.

Mobile: Throws at crows are the weakest link. Zoom out slightly before the ridge shot. Use a stable thumb for the QTE; landscape helps.

Console: Confirm interact is not bound to the same face button you mash to skip (if your client maps that). Read each prompt once on a slow file before a Speedrunner attempt.

VR: The listing allows VR, but the story UI is built for flatscreen prompts. Play flatscreen if badges matter.

Accessibility and comfort

Fear intensity is moderate and repeated; violence is occasional. There is no official colorblind mode toggle inside the place. If fire contrast hides Margaret, crank Roblox graphics down so flames do not white-out the floor. Volume spikes happen at the candle and at Kevin’s reveal — lower chat volume, this experience has no voice chat anyway.

If an input “does nothing”

  1. You are in a cutscene with no prompt. Wait or click the subtitle.
  2. You are trying to open a Night 3 door on Night 1. The Fun Dungeon is a look-and-acknowledge until Steven vanishes.
  3. You expected a code box. There is none. Codes explains that.
  4. An executor script stole your mouse. Close it. Scripts covers why story places do not need injectors.

Once movement feels boring — it should — go back to choices. The ending path tool is the next click, not a new keybind. Official listing: links.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for endings, badges, and first-run choices.

How do I skip dialogue in Egg Kevin's House?

Click the subtitle text in current patches. That is for speed, not for the Silence badge, which needs the "..." options.

How do I throw eggs?

Face the target and use the on-screen throw prompt. Crows for fragment one sit on the ridge behind you in the prologue.

Why can't I press the firefighter keys?

Male Sam needs three simultaneous keys. On mobile, tap the drawn glyphs. Full notes: Future Firefighter.

Is there a run button?

No dedicated sprint upgrade. Default Roblox movement is enough for Speedrunner if you skip lines and skip fragments.
